Accounting and tax

Compliance is annual, not occasional.

The UAE stopped being a filing-free jurisdiction in 2018 with VAT and again in 2023 with corporate tax. Every company now registers, keeps records and files, including the ones that owe nothing. Penalties attach to the missed filing, not to the unpaid tax, which is what catches most owners out.

We keep the books through the year rather than reconstructing them in the last week, prepare the statements your free zone or your bank asks for, and file with the Federal Tax Authority. You get the figures in a format your accountant at home can read.

What is included

01

Bookkeeping

Monthly or quarterly, from your bank feed and invoices, with a running view of what the company actually earns.

02

Annual financial statements

Prepared to the standard your free zone, your bank or your auditor requires, ready when they ask rather than after.

03

VAT

Registration where you cross the threshold, quarterly returns, and the zero-rating position on exported services set out properly.

04

Corporate tax

Registration, the annual return, and the Small Business Relief or qualifying free zone position applied where you are eligible.

05

A deadline calendar

Filing dates, licence renewal and visa expiry tracked for you, with a reminder before each one rather than after.

How we take over the books

  1. Review

Your licence, your activity, what has been filed so far and what is outstanding.

  2. Quote

A written scope and fee based on transaction volume, not on a guess.

  3. Catch up

Any backlog brought current and registrations completed before the next deadline.

  4. Run it

Books kept, returns filed, statements issued, deadlines flagged in advance, every year.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

How is a Dubai company taxed?
Corporate tax has applied since June 2023 at 9% on taxable profit above AED 375,000 and 0% below. Small Business Relief applies up to AED 3 million of revenue for tax periods ending on or before 31 December 2026. Qualifying free zone income can be taxed at 0% under conditions. VAT is 5%. Source: Federal Tax Authority.
Does a company with no profit still file?
Yes. Registration and filing are obligations in their own right, and penalties apply to a late or missing return even when no tax is due. Dormant companies and companies below the threshold still register and file. This is the single most common and most avoidable cost we see.
Do I need to register for VAT?
Registration is mandatory once taxable supplies exceed AED 375,000 over twelve months, and voluntary above AED 187,500. Services exported outside the GCC are often zero-rated, which matters for consultants invoicing Europe: you register, you file, and you may reclaim input VAT without charging it.
Can you take over from another accountant?
Yes, and it is common. We review what has been filed, identify anything outstanding and bring the records current before the next deadline. You need the trade licence, prior filings and bank statements; we handle the rest with the Federal Tax Authority.
